Balliol Women: 40 Years On

Balliol women (and those who identify as women) are warmly invited to join us for a weekend of conversation and celebration to mark the 40th anniversary of co-education at the College.

Programme 

Friday 27 September

4.00pm  Old Archive Room Registration opens; tea and coffee served
5.00-6.30pm Library Drinks
Viewing of art intervention by Shirin Homann (1990): 'Re mark able women: visualising the presence of female knowledge'
6.45pm Master’s Dining Room Reception and speaker: 
Gillian Morriss-Kay (Emeritus Fellow), Professor of Anatomy and first female science Fellow of Balliol: ‘The First Fellows’
7.45pm  Hall Dinner (smart casual preferred)

 

Saturday 28 September

8.15-9.30am Hall Breakfast (for overnight guests)

The weekend is open only to Balliol women (and those who identify as women). Because of anticipated demand for this event, regrettably guest tickets are not available. 

All accommodation is single room, bed and breakfast.

Costs

Full weekend (Friday and Saturday): £85 per person
Saturday only: £50 per person
Sunday rowing programme: free
Single Bed & Breakfast accommodation: £55 per person per night.
