DPhil Law

Hi! My name is Konrad and I am a fourth-year DPhil Student in Law. My research focuses on the interpretive theory of the European Court of Human Rights. My wider interests include international human rights law, jurisprudence and legal theory, moral and political philosophy, as well as AI Ethics. Over the past four years, I had the pleasure to call Balliol home. Since 2021, I have been part of Balliol's Welfare Team - first as Jowett Walk Warden, and then as a Junior Dean - helping our undergraduate students experiencing various difficulties and offering emergency support. During my time at Balliol, I had the pleasure of joining our college boat club and participating in the summer reading parties at the Chalet des Anglais in the French Alps. During my Pathfinders project, I hope to find out whether the various ways in which state supreme court judges are selected across different US States affects the public trust in these institutions. I hope to develop my project into a long-form journalistic article. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking, exercising and travelling.

Register to host Westerman Pathfinders for the summer
