2017 Medicine Hello! My name is Joe and I am currently in my 5th year at Balliol studying medicine, having finished my pre-clinical years in 2020. I have loved getting involved in college life during my time at Balliol, being an active member of college societies and sports teams, including running the football team in my second year. I am also a keen hiker and have long looked enviously at the landscapes and natural beauty across the USA. Thus, my project looks to explore the importance of the national parks system in the USA and the challenges, such as climate change, that it faces for preserving these areas for future generations. I hope to meet people involved in running, maintaining, and advocating for the parks, as well as those who conduct research into sustainability in these areas and those who simply go to enjoy what these places have to offer. I have had a fantastic time at Balliol so far and look forward to meeting Old Members on my travels!
