New College Reunion Lunch

To mark the retirement of Professor Martin Ceadel

Sunday 27 September 2015

Professor Martin Ceadel

You are warmly invited to join us in New College to celebrate the career of Martin Ceadel who retires this year.

This summer marks Martin's retirement from tutorial teaching at New College. Having taught at the Universities of Sussex, 1973-4, and London (Imperial College), 1974-9, Martin returned in 1979 to Oxford, where he had been an undergraduate at Corpus, 1966-9, graduate at Nuffied, 1969-72, and junior research fellow at Jesus, 1972-3, this time as Politics tutor at New College, working alongside first Alan Ryan and then Elizabeth Frazer. He was Oxford's co-ordinator for politics and international studies in the 1996 Research Assessment Exercise, and acted as head of the Department of Politics and International Relations in its "shadow" phase, 1999-2000. He is currently Course Director for the MPhil in International Relations.

To mark Martin's retirement, we are inviting former students, departmental colleagues and, of course, New College Fellows, to a special lunch in Hall on 27 September 2015.

The hall has a limited capacity, and we have decided to issue an open invitation until we reach that limit. We would therefore appreciate a prompt reply.

The programme will be as follows:

12.30pm: Reception in the Cloisters

1.15pm: Lunch in Hall (lounge suit)

If you would like to attend, please complete the booking form by clicking here and return it with any payment to: The Development Office, New College Oxford, OX1 3BN by Friday 18 September 2015. If you prefer to pay by card, please call Jonathan Rubery directly on 01865 279337 to book your place and make payment.

We hope as many of you as possible will be able to take this opporunity to revisit the College, to meet up with old friends and tutors, and to give Martin the send-off he so richly deserves.
