Alumni Events

The Department of Earth Sciences runs several alumni events throughout the year, offering the opportunity to get back in touch with old friends, network with other Earth Sciences professionals and learn more about current Departmental research.

There are also opportunities to meet alumni from across the University at the various events run by the central Alumni Office, on professional and interest-based subjects such as the environment, media, conservation, career progression, or Varsity sport. London Drinks 2020

You are warmly invited to join us for the next annual London Alumni Drinks event, which will be held on Thursday 6th February 2020 from 6.30pm onwards. Venue to be confirmed, but we will be sending out more details of this shortly.

Alumni Dinner 2020

Save the Date! The 2020 Alumni Dinner will be taking place at St. Edmund Hall College on Saturday 14th March 2020. As always, we welcome Earth Sciences graduates from any and all years, but if you are planning to mark a specific 5, 10, 15, 20 (or beyond!) year anniversary of matriculation and would like help organising a year group reunion to attend, please do not hesitate to contact us. The dinner will be preceded by activities in or around the current Department of Earth Sciences and an informal drinks reception. More details about the event and how to register will be circulated shortly.

Visiting the Department

Alumni are always welcome to visit the Department whenever they are in Oxford. In the absence of our External Relations Officer, please contact Reception on 01865 272000 in advance of your visit.

Weekly Research Seminars

Alumni are welcome to attend the weekly research seminars in the Department. The seminars take place at 12 Noon every Friday during term time. For more information, please visit our forthcoming lectures page.

Staying in Oxford

Accommodation in Oxford can be quite expensive, although a number of hotels and Colleges offer discounts for alumni. Details of such are available on the Alumni Benefits webpage.
