Alumni Events

The Department of Earth Sciences runs several alumni events throughout the year, offering the opportunity to get back in touch with old friends, network with other Earth Sciences professionals and learn more about current Departmental research.

There are also opportunities to meet alumni from across the University at the various events run by the central Alumni Office, on professional and interest-based subjects such as the environment, media, conservation, career progression, or Varsity sport. You can find out more about these opportunities on the University's Alumni Events page.

We're in the process of finalising details for the 2018 alumni events, but watch out for updates on the following:

Alumni Dinner at St Hugh's - Saturday 5th May 2018

Our annual alumni dinner is an opportunity for a reunion for those who matriculated in 2008, 1998, 1988, 1978, 1968, 1958 or perhaps even 1948! We also welcome the 25th anniversary groups of 1993, and indeed any year group who by dint of organisation and geographical alignment, can get a good number of their year group together - the Matric year of 1990 are planning a celebration of 25 years since graduation, with Suman Chowdhury and Jonathan Stewart leading the charge on that. This year we return to St Hugh's, the college home of our new Head of Department, Chris Ballentine, and also new Faculty member Erin Saupe, who will be offering a short introduction to their research during the afternoon.
