We are delighted to invite you to a special event celebrating the immense contribution that Emeritus Fellow Dr John Walsh, who very sadly died last year, made to Jesus College and to the wider academic community across the world. During the event we will hear about the legacy of John's teaching and research from former students and colleagues of John, as well as from those studying History at College today, The event will conclude with an informal buffet lunch with wine in Hall.

 

 

EVENT SCHEDULE

11.00am Coffee and Pastries will be served in the Cheng Kar Shun Digital Hub in the new Cheng Building

11.30am Dr Felicity Heal will introduce and chair a roundtable discussion about John’s teaching at Jesus with Professor Tony Claydon, Professor Sir Richard Evans, Dr Colin Haydon and Professor Colin Jones CBE.

12.40pm Dr Alexandra Gajda will conclude the session by discussing the continuation of John’s legacy of teaching History in Jesus today, before introducing current members of the JR Green (College History) society who will talk briefly about studying History and their society activities

1.15pm Informal buffet lunch with wine in Hall

3.00pm Event closes
