The Value of University Collections in the 21st Century
Date: Wednesday 12 May
Time: 18:00 British Standard Time
Venue: Zoom Webinar
Join us for a 40 Years Series lecture with
Ms Catriona Cannon (1990)
, Deputy Librarian and Keeper of Collections, Bodleian Libraries, and Gardens Libraries and Museums Liaison Fellow and Vice-President of Reuben College.
Catriona will give us a special insight into her twin roles at the University of Oxford: she is Deputy Librarian and Keeper of Collections at the much-loved Bodleian Libraries; and Vice-President and Official Fellow (GLAM Liaison) at Oxford’s newest institution, Reuben College. She will delve into the nature and significance of the collections held by the University’s gardens, libraries and museums, and how they influence the University as a whole, as well as looking at what the future might hold for a resource of such great importance and incalculable value.
A live Q&A, moderated by the
Warden, Professor Irene Tracey
, will take place towards the end of the lecture, to which all Mertonians are welcome to participate. Please note, this event will be recorded.
