‘As I reflect on my first few months as Domestic Bursar, my standout observation is the generous spirit of Balliol. A perk of the role is that I engage with so many different people. In a single day, I might meet students to discuss their garden party, chat with the Praefectus about the gardens at Holywell Manor, advise on chef de partie interviews, learn about rowing and the flow rates of the Cherwell, or share a coffee with a Fellow. I have been overwhelmed with the warmth and commitment of all I have encountered.’ Jennifer Smith (Domestic Bursar) |
