‘Preparing the e-News for the last time, I’ve been marvelling at all the stories it has been my privilege to share. From University Challenge to motor-racing in the 1950s, from the evolution of galaxies to shark conservation, from a Balliol ghost to an optoelectronic nose, they have variously inspired, entertained, educated or (I’m thinking quantum computing) challenged me. As I set off for pastures new, I thank the Balliol community for all the interest and enjoyable conversations my work here has entailed, and I hope you will carry on sending your stories for my successor to showcase to the world.’ Anne Askwith (Publications and Web Officer) |
