‘On Saturday 18 March 2023, the Balliol community came together in the Sheldonian Theatre to celebrate the life of Professor Jasper Griffin FBA (Balliol 1956, Dyson Junior Research Fellow 1961–1963, Tutorial Fellow in Classics 1963–2004, and Emeritus Fellow 2004-2019). Over 250 people heard speeches from former colleagues, students, and friends, before reconvening in college for drinks and dinner. A memorable event to mark the influence of one of the College’s – and University’s – most beloved and esteemed Fellows.’
Adrian Kelly (Fellow and Tutor in Ancient Greek Language and Literature)
