It's Third Week - I feel like I've seen a completely different side to Oxford this year, because of the extended terms and lack of exams. I know some degrees have stressful coursework deadlines this term, but I hope everyone will take the opportunity to enjoy the company of their friends and relax (even if the enjoyment is mixed with dread concerning Finals!).

OBITUARY: Professor Oliver Smithies
We were very saddened to learn of the deaths of three Honorary Fellows, Professor Oliver Smithies MA DPhil Oxf, ForMemRS (1943), James Fairfax AO, AC, MA Oxf (1952) and Professor Robert Hinde BA Camb, BSc Lond, MADPhil Oxf, CBE FRS FBA (1948), who passed away this month.

Omar Azfar Lecture
The Omar Azfar lecture, first established in 2015 to honour the memory of Omar Azfar (1997), will be held on Tuesday 14 February. Helen Hayes, MP (1993), will give a lecture entitled ‘The UK Housing Crisis: An Issue of Justice?’.
