'Balliol’s 2024 outreach programmes have had a record-breaking year, and when Freshers arrive in October 2025, one in five will have taken part in our activities. It’s been especially rewarding to see offer holders appreciate the support they’ve received and their willingness to pay it forward to future applicants. Our Try Before You Buy days, which gave prospective students a taste of an Oxford tutorial, helped many build the confidence to apply, with 26 participants receiving offers. Meanwhile, online resources like our Insight into Maths, Science, and Humanities talks and the GCSE Discovery Programme mean that both home and international students can benefit from the expertise of our graduates. We’ve also launched a new graduate admissions video highlighting the academic and cultural opportunities that make Balliol such a special place. Thanks to the generosity of Old Members and friends, we will continue to develop our initiatives, and as ever, there is much more that we can and should do.' Pravahi Osman, Outreach Officer |
