'Autumn is my favourite season. As the exuberant summer growth slows and the first leaves begin to turn, it is a time for making plans and clearing spaces, ready for planting. The Broad Street grounds of Balliol have been aptly described to me as a “village green”. The prospect of developing this landscape as the village looks on is a little daunting. However, I am encouraged by the warm welcome and generous support I have been given; my team is passionate about creating beautiful gardens, and I will be working with them to make the gardens bloom.'
